Rinza Alkaline Liquid
For milk protein and fat on compatible auto frothers, steam wands, and frothing pitchers. This is the alkaline liquid formula—not a generic substitute for every milk-system cleaner.
Grindz Tablets
For oil and coffee particles in standalone grinder burrs and casings. Follow the labeled cleaning and coffee-bean purge procedure; do not use standard Grindz in an integrated superautomatic grinder.

Tabz comes in different variants, so do not borrow dosing instructions from a different Tabz package or assume these are the tablets specified for an espresso machine.
Build the Order Around Your Equipment
If your café has a compatible espresso machine, milk system, and standalone grinder, you may need three different cleaners—not three interchangeable bottles. Replenish each according to its own usage; milk-system cleaning may not use up product at the same rate as grinder cleaning.
Keep the original labels available, assign each cleaner a storage location, and include the required rinsing or purging step in the station checklist. Use your machine’s maintenance schedule and the product label rather than a generic “one scoop for everything” routine.
Common Urnex Questions
Are cleaning and descaling the same thing?
No. Cleaning addresses residues such as coffee oils or milk buildup; descaling addresses mineral deposits. Do not substitute Cafiza or alkaline Rinza for your machine’s specified descaler.
Can I use Cafiza on the milk system instead of Rinza?
Do not treat them as interchangeable. Cafiza targets coffee residue; alkaline Rinza targets milk protein and fat. Use the cleaner approved for the specific equipment and task.
Can standard Grindz go through my superautomatic machine?
No. Urnex explicitly excludes integrated grinders in superautomatic machines from standard Grindz use. Follow your equipment manufacturer’s approved cleaning procedure.
Should I follow a dose from an online recipe?
Use the exact product label and your equipment instructions. Formulas, tablet sizes, and machine requirements differ. Do not mix cleaners or improvise a stronger solution.
