Milk & Alt Milk
Milk & alternatives / Build the drink around it
Choose the milk that makes the drink.
Start with an everyday oat, almond, or soy option—or give a signature drink its own pistachio or maple-walnut base. Compare the actual formula and case size, not just the word “barista.”

Similar cartons. Meaningfully different formulas.
| If This Matters to Your Recipe | Compare This Option | Useful Distinction |
|---|---|---|
| An Unsweetened Almond Formula | Califia Unsweetened Barista Almond | Do not substitute the sweetened Original Almond Barista Blend by name alone. |
| An Organic Oat Formula | Minor Figures Organic Oat | The U.S. formula lists organic oats and organic sunflower oil. |
| A Pistachio Base without Added Oils | Táche Original Barista Pistachio | Original Barista and Unsweetened Barista are separate products. |
| A Maple-Walnut Flavor Direction | Elmhurst Barista Maple Walnut | The formula contains oats as well as walnuts and maple syrup. |
Formula notes use current manufacturer information. Ingredients can change; the carton label governs the product in your hand. Plant-based does not mean allergen-free. Check the complete ingredient and allergen statements for each recipe.
Six cartons and twelve cartons are different buys.
The barista cartons featured here are 32 fl oz each. A six-carton case contains 192 fl oz; a twelve-carton case contains 384 fl oz.
Compare the cost per carton when evaluating case prices. Drink yield depends on the amount you actually pour—not the nominal size of the cup, which also holds espresso, ice, or foam.
Taste it in the drink you actually sell.
Use your regular espresso or tea, the same milk quantity, and the same sweetener level to compare formulas. Check the hot drink and the iced version separately before making a menu-wide switch.
Then adjust the recipe deliberately: a maple-walnut base and an unsweetened almond base should not be expected to contribute the same flavor or sweetness.
A condensed can is not another barista carton.
Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk, Sweetened Condensed Oat Milk, and Sweetened Condensed Milk are concentrated recipe ingredients. Canned Chaokoh Coconut Milk and R&W Evaporated Milk are different products again. Choose the format specified by your drink or dessert recipe; do not substitute them one-for-one without adjusting and testing it.
